The purpose of this position is to review stock levels and expedite the placement of purchase orders for a range of goods from local and overseas suppliers to ensure they meet the sales forecast/demand.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensure purchase orders are placed in a timely fashion.
- Maintain regular contact with suppliers.
- Negotiate with suppliers to ensure products purchased are at competitive prices.
- Source pricing, quotations, ETA’s, technical information etc as requested.
- Provide suppliers performance in regard to delivery, quality of product issues, product changes and price changes.
- Maintain a daily and weekly reporting.
- Update the ERP system as required.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
A minimum of 3 years experience in an FMCG purchasing/procurement position with proven experience negotiating directly with suppliers. A sound understanding of local and overseas purchasing methodologies, processes and international trading terms is essential. Working knowledge of Pronto would be well regarded. A high attention to detail together with good written and verbal communications skills is expected.
